About The Piece
‘Pluto’ is 12″x 9.5″ water color on paper
My celestial landscapes allow me to spend time exploring and examining space, and pushes me to discover what can be created with the medium of watercolor paint. Watercolor is a perfect medium for recreating the distant rivers and oceans of planets as well as the clouds and fractal like patterns of nebulas because of the organic play of water on paper. I play with and manipulate the way the water behaves. I use a simple floating circle to contain my celestial objects, allowing a peephole into the vastness of space and demanding focus to the drama within.
Personal space, because let’s be honest, who couldn’t use more calm in the midst of our hustling lives?”
